The story thus far...

Hey! I'm Connor. I'm a 21 year old video blogger on YouTube on the channel AConMann. Many people ask me how I ended up talking to a camera twice a week, so I thought I'd share that story here.

It's February 2010, and the east coast of the US was being hit by a massive snowstorm dubbed "snowpocalypse" and I was a bored 17 year old starved for something to do. I had been watching YouTube for a few months and had toyed with the idea of making videos of my own. I thought, "Hey I can do that." So I did it. I made my first video under the brand name of "Generally Awesome" (later changed to "Considerably Awesome") and I was instantly hooked, despite no one watching. I was able to use the skills gained in competing on the national forensics league public speaking circuit in a new and exciting way: by vlogging.

At this point in time, YouTube was nothing but fun. It wasn't about views or subscribers. I was just having a blast learning and figuring out what I wanted my online voice to be. This is how it was until I became a YouTube Partner spring 2011.

I never saw YouTube as a viable career option, and part of me didn't want to. I went away to college trying to explore traditional options, yet found the entire time that it didn't feel right for me. I had a rough go of things and in the back of my mind I knew that YouTube and creating online content was the thing I really wanted to do. Around this time I signed with Big Frame and the tide started to turn on my channel.

I left school, went to VidCon 2012, got a job at home, and made YouTube my #1 priority. Since then, my channel has grown by over 30,000 subscribers and I've started creating content I'm genuinely proud of.

I'm on an adventure. That's for sure. But it's an adventure and a story that I'm writing each and every day and am having a blast living.
